I cannot believe that it has been one year since my first post!
With 365 days in the books, I’ve learned so much about writing and creating. By putting myself out there on this little corner of the internet, I’ve also learned so much about myself, what makes me happy, and why I continue to write.
As a twenty-something, it can be difficult to find something that makes you truly happy. High school and college are behind you, and with that are the days of joining a new club, or a sports team, or easily finding friends with the same passions as you. You find yourself at an intersection of life where you’re just starting a career, while also trying to get enough sleep, manage your social calendar, eat healthy food, read books, not watch too much Netflix, see your family and friends enough, and do one thousand other things all at the same time.
With this balancing act we’re all trying to do, it can be hard to feel passionate about your day-to-day every single day. It’s also really easy to just let the days fly by and go from January to July in what feels like a minute. I knew I needed to do something that was completely for me.
Last September, I bought this little domain and decided that I was going to write. It wouldn’t matter to me how many followers I had or how many people saw my posts. The only thing that mattered was that I was writing in a creative way, something I’ve loved to do since I got my first laptop in middle school. If I’ve realized anything in the past year, it’s that if you want something, you just have to make it happen for yourself. It’s not going to fall from the sky into your lap, and absolutely no one is going to hand it to you on a silver platter.
I didn’t really expect to gain any followers from writing posts about my personal travel experiences, but once I did, it made me excited to continue doing so. There is nothing I love more than sharing my adventures with all of you.
I owe a lot to the curated adventure, but mostly that it gave me the confidence to do what I love doing – write about travel and help people plan vacations. To all of you that follow this little travel blog, thank you for supporting me and taking the time to read, it means the world.
